The July 2009 Simlympics, also known as Hinawa 2009, and officially known as the Games of the X Simlympiad, was the hosting of the Simlympics held in Hinawa, Seto of the SCJU.

As a celebratory gesture to mark the 10th hosting of the Simlympics, the games were marketed as the Tenth (X) Simlympics with an emphasis on the "X", reflecting just how far the Simlympics and the ISC have gone since the first Simlympics in New Rhodesia in 2006.

To date, the July 2009 Simlympics has had the most number of participating nations in the history of the Games with 112 from eight unions.

Venues[]

  • Hinawa Dome: The main stadium of the July 2009 Simlympics which hosted the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as one of three to host athletics and football.

Transport[]

Hinawa International Airport's old Terminal 1 quickly fell to the pressures of a dramatic increase in passengers and outdated technology. To accomodate the Games, the terminal received a massive upgrade and a second terminal was constructed to help balance traffic in the airport. During the Games and thereafter, Terminal 1 handled all regional and domestic flights, while the newer Terminal 2 handled the international flights. The bridge connecting the airport to the city was also expanded to accomodate heavier traffic. Microbuses, taxis, city buses, and a subway line were utilized to allow visitors to get to the Sports Village efficiently.
