Swimming has been a part of the schedule for every Summer Simlympics games since the beginning. The number of events had increased dramatically in the past few games. This article includes swimming events of individual and relay races in a pool and the marathon event in open water. This article does not include water polo, diving or synchronised swimming.
Events
For the first seven Summer Simlympic events, there was only one swimming event at each of the games. No swimming medals were awarded at the sixth Summer Simlympics because of the terrorist attack on Windsor Park. By the eighth games, the number of events had increased to 8, and by the 10th games there were 19 swimming events. There were more swimming medals awarded at the Eleventh Summer Simlympic games than in the first eight summer simplympics combined.
